Tom has a reputation for solving problems and delivering projects in complex, live environments. With a strong focus on client relationships and driving a high-performance team culture, he compliments his keen interest in people and tenacity to get things done with a strategic approach to guide business opportunities in both existing and targeted growth sectors.

As a registered commercial builder, Tom is passionate about driving the dynamic growth of URBN Group and developing a new type of construction company, a game changing business underpinned by an enthusiastic team.

With experience in various sectors of the construction industry, Aakash brings a well-rounded knowledge to his role as Senior Estimator/Contract Administrator. Prior to commencing work at URBN™, Aakash completed a Master of Construction Management (Professional) and bachelor of civil engineering and worked previously in a Tier 3 construction company and high end residential developments.

Aakash’s high attention to detail and effective communication style ensures accurate tender submissions, smooth project delivery and constructive stakeholder management. Aakash understands the importance of subcontractor relationships and the role they have in delivering successful project outcomes.

Aakash has exceptional organisational skills, a strong focus on teamwork and works closely with both the Project Managers and the Site Managers, providing invaluable support for his projects across many areas of contract administration.

James Gow

James, Contracts Administrator at URBN Group, brings meticulous attention to detail and strong stakeholder management to ensure successful delivery of high-value residential and commercial projects.

James Gow joins URBN™ as a Contracts Administrator (Operations) with a Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours).

He began his career in 2017 as a Quantity Surveyor, gaining significant client-side cost management experience. In 2023, James transitioned to the contractor side as a Site Supervisor at Johns Lyng Group, further honing his skills.

His impressive project portfolio includes high-value residential and commercial developments like HOME Apartments in Alphington ($150M), Northern ARC ($61.6M), and the redevelopment of Reid Oval in Warrnambool ($10M).

Since joining URBN in 2024, James has contributed to notable projects such as Planet Fitness Craigieburn ($1.4M) and Escape Hatch Books ($350K).

Known for his meticulous approach and strong stakeholder management, James ensures successful project delivery and effective collaboration across all phases of construction.

Sara Walker is a highly experienced Marketing and Bid Manager with over a decade of expertise in marketing, communications, and business development, including four years in the commercial construction industry. She holds a Diploma of Building and Construction, bringing a diverse range of skills to her role, including bid writing, graphic design, and project marketing. Sara excels in producing high-quality submissions for tenders, EOI’s, fee proposals, and capability statements, all while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.

In her current position, Sara plays a pivotal role in driving URBN Group’s success by supporting key business functions like project delivery and bid management. Her strong stakeholder relationship management, multitasking abilities, and adaptability enable her to excel across departments, providing innovative solutions and enhancing organisational performance.

Sara’s achievements extend to content creation, digital marketing, and event management, where she has developed and executed strategic campaigns that drive growth. As Co – Founder and managing director, Joel has over 10 years of industry experience in the delivery of complex project across both the residential and commercial sectors, from extensive refurbishments and fit outs to new build and live environment works.

Joel oversees and guides our construction division from project commencement through to completion and is the main point of contact for our clients. He has a unique and proven ability to manage both company and sub-contractor relationships to ensure a cohesive approach is obtained in delivering challenging projects.

With his strong technical acumen, Joel successfully managed the delivery of multi-million-dollar projects across Geelong and the South coast. Joel is responsible for the delivery of projects from inception, including design management and documentation, through to completion.

He implements zero defect strategies to ensure that each project achieves the highest quality, safety and environmental standards and monitors and reports project performance against target cost, safety, program and quality criteria, anticipating issues and rapidly resolving them.

With a team orientated attitude, Joel believes success is driven through open communication and accountability, and is able to deliver positive outcomes for the team whilst driving the growth of the company.

Nick’s in-depth understanding of key client sectors enables him to provide end-to-end project management, ensuring project excellence.Nick excels in challenging environments and thrives on building successful teams for delivering complex projects.

He listens to clients, coordinates project functions, and implements zero-defect strategies for top-notch quality, safety, and environmental standards. Nick’s leadership has resulted in the successful execution of multimillion-dollar projects, earning high customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Nick’s educational background includes an Advanced Diploma of Project Management and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Law, providing him with a robust foundation in both project management principles and business acumen.

Lachlan Brent brings over 9 years of extensive experience in the construction industry, specializing in site supervision, residential estimating, and carpentry roles. His passion for delivering exceptional results and his diverse skill set make him a valuable asset to our team.

Lachlan has overseen a variety of commercial fitout projects in Melbourne city and regional Victoria, demonstrating his keen eye for detail, commitment to safety, and effective coordination of subcontractors.

His leadership as Lead Carpenter on projects such as constructing sets for Thor 4 at Fox Studios underscores his versatility and hands-on approach to project management.

Previously, as a Junior Residential Estimator, Lachlan excelled in accurately estimating costs, maintaining profitable margins, and coordinating project timelines. His achievements include autonomously pricing an 8-unit development and consistently meeting project deadlines while exceeding key performance indicators.

Lachlan’s background also includes diverse experiences such as solo travel roles in Canada and North America, completing a carpentry apprenticeship with Dave Brent Constructions, and working as a stockman on remote NT cattle stations.

These experiences have honed his skills in team leadership, problem-solving, and project execution.

Her process-driven approach, exceptional communication skills, and attention to detail allow her to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Mike Bufton, joining URBN Group as a Project Manager, holds a Bachelor of Engineering (HONS) in Civil & Environmental from the University of Auckland. His extensive career in the construction industry spans design to construction, highlighting his analytical approach and commitment to safety originating from a background in structural engineering.

With well-rounded experience in both client-side and contractor roles, Mike brings a strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction, first-hand experience of trades involved, and the coordination required in design and project management.

Mike’s notable work at Jeckra, where he focused on the upgrade and modernisation of Guardian Childcare & Education facilities across their national portfolio of 100+ centres, showcases his expertise in handling sensitive and high-stakes projects.

In these roles, Mike was responsible for estimation, tender analysis, and project management, ensuring the renovations met stringent safety standards and tight timelines while maximising occupancy against construction costs.

At New England Constructions, Mike further demonstrated his project management capabilities on high-profile projects such as the Waterfront Tavern in Shell Cove, NSW, valued at $11 million, which won the Master Builders Excellence Award for Commercial Hospitality in 2022, and the Marina Services Building project, valued at $3.5 million. His responsibilities included client liaison, estimation, procurement, quality control, and comprehensive project management from inception to completion.

Mike is known for his strong client relationships, understanding design intent, and delivering cost effective, practical solutions while maintaining the client’s vision.

Throughout his extensive career, Greg has successfully managed a diverse range of high-profile projects, including Miramar Apartments in Geelong with LU Simon Builders, Mercer Apartments and Holiday Inn & Suites in Geelong with Maxcon Constructions, and Hotel Continental in Sorrento with Hamilton Marino Builders.

His project portfolio also features Craftworks Creative Office in Abbotsford, Boathouse Apartments, Riverside Apartments, River One Apartments in Footscray, and numerous other significant developments. Greg’s expertise spans residential, commercial, and hotel projects, showcasing his ability to manage complex builds from inception to completion. He is known for his exceptional coordination skills, ensuring that all on-site activities and subcontractor schedules adhere to Australian building codes and safety standards.

Greg’s leadership style is characterised by his effective communication and strong decision-making skills, enabling him to collaborate efficiently with diverse stakeholders and lead project teams to success.
